Roland Kirk

Rahsaan Roland Kirk (1935–1977) was an American jazz multi-instrumentalist renowned for playing tenor saxophone, flute, and multiple instruments simultaneously. Born blind in Columbus, Ohio, he became one of jazz's most electrifying performers, known for his "triple threat" technique of playing tenor sax, manzello, and stritch at once. He recorded over 30 albums, led the Vibration Society, and was a vocal activist for jazz and Black Classical Music. His iconic solo on Quincy Jones' "Soul Bossa Nova" introduced him to wider audiences.
